This is a square magnetic slider with flat braced edges and a textured thumb face. You push it, it glides a short distance, catches, and snaps back with a low click you feel more than you hear.

Why square

The flat edges give your thumb something to brace against, so the push is repeatable — same travel, same catch, every time. The travel is shorter than on the long version, which makes the catch feel sharper and quicker to repeat. Squared faces also sit still on a desk instead of rolling away, and the softened corners make it comfortable to walk across your knuckles.

The textured face is deliberate

We made the top surface rough on purpose. The texture gives your thumb something to bite into, so every push lands the same and you can feel exactly where you are on the track. It photographs less glossy. It works considerably better in the hand.

What we tried first

The first version was smooth. It felt good for about three pushes — then the thumb starts skating across the surface and you lose control of the travel. Two flat faces sliding against each other look better than they work.

Every slider is hand-finished in our workshop in Navarra, Spain, one batch at a time, using our own production process.

How each unit is checked

The magnets are seated and tested by hand, so the pull is even and the return is clean on every single unit. If one doesn't feel right, it doesn't ship.

Is it loud?

No. The magnets do the work, so the return is a low click rather than a snap. It works in an open-plan office or a quiet room.

Should I get the square or the long one?

The square has a shorter, sharper push and stays put on a desk. The long version gives you more glide before the magnet catches. Both use the same magnets and the same textured face.

Why is the top surface rough?

On purpose. The smooth version let the thumb skate across it, which meant losing control of the travel. The texture makes every push land the same.
